Matthew’s 15+ Years Of Doing Things The Right Way
Matthew Kenny has spent more than 15 years in construction and exterior improvements, on residential, commercial, and industrial jobs around Central Pennsylvania. In that time he saw what wears property owners down about contractors: corners cut where nobody looks, calls that go unreturned, and bids that grow once the work has started.
He built Terra Firma Concrete to be the contractor he would want working on his own property. Terra firma is Latin for solid ground, and “Solid Foundations, Lasting Impressions” is the standard he holds every driveway, wall, and slab to.
Matthew visits every site himself, walks the scope with you, and writes the proposal. Before any work begins you get a contract with the scope, the materials, and the price spelled out, not a ballpark number over the phone.
It’s a straightforward approach, and in this trade, straightforward is rare.

How a Terra Firma Job Runs
Whether it’s a single set of steps or a full backyard rebuild, every project follows the same four steps. Customers tell us the first one matters most: Matthew asks a lot of questions before he prices anything.
1. Matthew Visits the Site
He comes out, measures, and looks at the soil, the grade, and where the water goes. He also asks what you need the space to do, because a parking pad for a work truck and a patio for a grill are built differently.
2. You Get the Contract in Writing
The scope, the materials, and the price go on paper with every relevant detail before anyone breaks ground. If something on the site changes the plan, we talk about it before we do it.
3. One Crew Builds It
Excavation, concrete, and masonry are done by our own crew, so the people who dig and grade are the same people who pour and lay block. Before we dig, we call in PA One Call so buried utilities are marked.
4. A Final Walk-Through
When the work is done, we walk it with you and clean up the site. The job is finished when you are satisfied with it, not when the truck leaves.

Terra Firma Concrete is registered with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General as a home improvement contractor, HICPA #168581. Pennsylvania requires that registration for most contractors doing home improvement work, and you can confirm any contractor’s number on the Attorney General’s contractor search before you sign anything.
