Driveways
New pours, demolition and replacement, repairs, and extensions. Proper excavation, compacted stone base, and control joints built for Central PA's freeze-thaw cycles.
From new driveways and patios to full demolition and replacement, we handle every phase of residential and commercial concrete construction across Central PA.
Concrete is only as good as what’s underneath it. The base prep, the grading, the compaction, the drainage — that’s the work nobody sees, and it’s the work that determines whether your driveway lasts 5 years or 30. Most concrete contractors treat site prep as an afterthought. We treat it as the foundation of the entire project.
At Terra Firma, we handle excavation and concrete under one roof. The same crew that preps your site is the same crew that pours your concrete. No handoffs between subcontractors. No miscommunication about grade levels or compaction specs. No finger-pointing when something goes wrong six months later.
Every project starts with Matthew visiting your property in person, walking the scope with you, and delivering a written contract with transparent pricing before we break ground. You’ll know exactly what the work costs, exactly what’s included, and exactly when it will be done.
Central Pennsylvania's freeze-thaw cycles are brutal on concrete. The temperature swings between summer and winter mean water gets into every crack and joint, freezes, expands, and breaks things apart from the inside out. We account for this on every project — proper control joint spacing, adequate thickness, reinforcement where it's needed, and a compacted base that doesn't shift when the ground freezes and thaws underneath it.
Because we also handle masonry and excavation in-house, your concrete project doesn't require coordinating multiple contractors. Need a retaining wall before the patio can go in? Need foundation drainage installed before we pour your slab? We handle it all — one crew, one timeline, one point of contact.
We handle the full range of concrete construction for residential, commercial, and industrial clients across Central PA.

We start every project with a free on-site estimate. Matthew visits your property, reviews the existing conditions, discusses your goals, and walks through the options with you. From there, we handle everything — excavation, base preparation, forming, pouring, finishing, and cleanup — keeping you informed at every step so you know exactly what to expect and when your project will be done.
With over 15 years in the construction industry and PA Home Improvement Contractor license HICPA #168581, you get a concrete contractor who is fully accountable, properly insured, and committed to delivering quality work with clear communication from first call to final walk-through.
Pricing depends on the size of the driveway, how much demolition and site prep is needed, thickness, reinforcement, and the specific conditions of your property. We provide a free on-site estimate where Matthew visits your home, measures the area, and gives you a written proposal with exact pricing — no ballpark numbers over the phone.
It depends on scope. A residential sidewalk might take 1–2 days. A full driveway replacement with excavation typically runs 3–5 days. A patio with grading and a retaining wall could take a week or more. We’ll give you a clear timeline in your written proposal before any work begins, and we communicate proactively if anything changes.
Yes — that’s one of our biggest differentiators. We handle excavation, grading, base preparation, and concrete all in-house. The same crew preps your site and pours your concrete. No subcontractors, no handoffs, no miscommunication between trades.
It depends on the type and extent of the damage. Isolated cracks, minor settling, and surface issues can often be repaired without tearing everything out. If the base has failed or the damage is widespread, replacement is the right call. Matthew will give you an honest assessment during the site visit — not a sales pitch for the more expensive option.

Yes. We handle concrete, masonry, excavation, and retaining walls all in-house. If your project involves multiple services — like a patio that needs a retaining wall and grading — we coordinate everything as one project with one crew and one point of contact.
